 1969 Olds Cutlass S

   Convertible

 "The 1969 F-85/Cutlass models received only minor trim changes from their '68 counterparts such as a now-Olds trademark split grille with vertical bars and vertical taillights.  Per federal safety regulations, headrests were now standard equipment and the ignition switched moved from the instrument panel to the steering column to lock the steering wheel when not in use, one year before the locking steering columns were federally mandated."

Engine offerings were unchanged from 1968, but a new three-speed Turbo Hydra-matic 350 transmission was added to the option list and available with all versions of the 350 cu in Rocket V8, including the standard two-barrel 350 cu in  version, four-barrel "Ultra High Compression" 310 hp  option and the W-31 option, conservatively rated at 325 hp ."

The old two-speed Jetaway automatic was still available with the Chevy-built 250 cu in "Action-Line" six or the two-barrel 350 cu in  V8. The Turnpike Cruiser two-barrel 400 cu in Rocket V8 was dropped and the four-barrel 400 engine from the 4-4-2 was available only in the Vista Cruiser wagons."

This is a very nice example of a 1969 Cutlass convertible in the always desirable triple black color combination.  Owned by an adult collector, this car was acquired by him through the estate of a relative and is being offered for sale only because he has no room for storage.  Please let all the pictures load (there are over 90) to see the beautiful condition of this classic Oldsmobile.  The odometer shows 80,000 miles and according to the owner is believed to be correct, but it is being sold as exempt because of the age.  Our knowledge of what has been done to this car is very limited, but this is what we do know.  It is a combination of original, with some cosmetic and mechanical restoration.  The car was repainted in the original Ebony Black (the 442 stripes were added for looks) the bumpers were rechromed, a new convertible top, boot and rear window were installed at the same time.  The exterior chrome and trim appear to be original and in very good shape, the engine received some mechanical improvements and the interior is a combination of original and restored. The undercarriage received new floor pans, the rest is solid and clean with no issues.  The 350  V-8 engine fires to life instantly and the car rides and handles terrific.  Very nicely equipped, with the following features;

The gauges, heater, lights, radio, power top, windows, wipers, even the cigarette lighter are fully operational.  All in all, this is one very nice Cutlass and runs so good, I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere!
